Welcome To Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre

The Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre was opened in 1989, funded by the London Docklands Development Corporation and the Sports Council at a cost of £1.2 million with the aim of providing recreational water activities for all sections of the community living and working in the local area.

It is owned by The Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre Trust, and managed by a wholly owned subsidiary company, The Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre Limited. All directors and trustees are voluntary.

The Centre is based in an award winning purpose built facility, split over two floors with great views from the upstairs bar over the dock, and wet facilities downstairs. We are located at the west end of Millwall outer dock, on the Isle of Dogs in London.

The website is split into three elements that cover our three main areas of operation:

Water Sports
The Centre runs a range of activities including Sailing, Windsurfing, Kayaking and Dragon Boating. We run sessions for all sections of the community including young people and those with disabilities.
Charity
DSWC is a registered charity, as such we are always looking for assistance with sponsorship and volunteering within the centre. We also provide excellent volunteering opportunities for local companies.
Events
The Centre operates as an events venue for both water based and land based events. We are a popular wedding venue and hold a civil marriage certificate. We also offer catering including our famous BBQ.

The Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre is run as a Social Enterprise with limited external funding.
We are supported by Fundraising, Individual Volunteers, and Corporate Volunteering Projects.
Our Youth and Freedom Programs cost £33,000 to run in 2007.
