Founded in 1995, RYA Sailability has recently been incorporated into the Royal Yachting Association absorbing core administrative costs. Currently there are more than 20,000 disabled sailors in the UK helped by around 12,000 volunteers at over 150 recognised RYA Sailability sites. Through the charities work, sailors with disabilities experience the same exhilaration, enjoyment and confidence felt by able-bodied sailors - along with all the great social activities and competition opportunities. |

OB (OnBoard), developed by the RYA (the people who run sailing in the UK), is a programme to help introduce sailing and windsurfing as a sport for you – whatever your needs and ability.
Working with clubs across the UK, OB makes getting into sailing and windsurfing easy. Even if you live miles from the sea, you can experience the best of sailing on lakes, estuaries and rivers in your area! |

 | Adventure Activities Licensing AuthorityWe are licenced under the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations to provide all our activities that are within the scope of the regulations.

The Adventure Activities Licensing Scheme is a Government sponsored scheme, which was introduced in 1996 under the Adventure Activities Licensing Regulations. The scheme ensures that those who provide certain adventure activities to young people under the age of 18 years, will have their safety management systems inspected. Where appropriate, a licence is then issued. |

The Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre is run as a Social Enterprise with limited external funding.
We are supported by Fundraising, Individual Volunteers, and Corporate Volunteering Projects.
Our Youth and Freedom Programs cost £33,000 to run in 2007.
