The course is aimed at people who have already completed their RYA Level 2 on the dock. The course covers the same syllabus as the Level 2 but with particular reference to the problems of tide.
The course takes one day, and consists of a mornings theory work at the centre, followed by about 4 hours of sailing on the river to demonstrate the skills required. It is recommended that students take the time to practise the skills learnt in their level 2 before undertaking the course.
The session launches and recovers from the slipway across the road, it is therefore recommended that students wear sensible footwear as the ground can be quite uneven.
Courses are scheduled to co-inside with River trips.
