Docklands Sailing & Water Sports Centre

The Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre has good disabled access, and we are keen to make watersports as accessible as possible to disabled people. We are always happy to discuss individual situations, to find solutions that work. While we would generally encourage disabled people to partake of our activity program in the same way as anyone else, we do also run some specialist sessions, for those who may feel they require additional support.

Freedom Afloat

Freedom Afloat is an activity session open exclusively to disabled participants. The session takes place on a Friday afternoon, and is aimed at all levels of ability.

Competition

Competitive sailing we run racing on a Monday night, and also enter boats into the fully inclusive London Regatta. Special Needs participants can also get involved with the Special Olympics Sailing Squad.

Groups

Groups of all ages (8+) are welcome at the centre, we currently have a number of disabled and special needs groups attending the centre, and are happy to discuss specific requirements.

The Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre is run as a Social Enterprise with limited external funding.
We are supported by Fundraising, Individual Volunteers, and Corporate Volunteering Projects.
Our Youth and Freedom Programs cost £33,000 to run in 2007.
