Start Racing

This course is a new element of the RYA Training scheme and will give you the opportunity to develop and refine your skills so you can take part in club racing. It is assumed that everyone starting this course has already mastered the practical skills and absorbed the background knowledge for RYA Level 2. In practical terms this means a season's regular sailing between courses.

There is a change in emphasis from Level 1 & 2, towards self-reliance and decision-making. Students will learn the essential skills and knowledge for competing at club level.

By the end of the course the successful racer will have a body of knowledge and the confidence to race in moderate conditions.
