Learn to sail a Laser

This course will give you the opportunity to develop and refine skills so you can launch recover and sail the Laser high performance dinghy in light winds. It is assumed that everyone starting this course has already mastered the practical skills and absorbed the background knowledge for RYA Level 2. In practical terms this means knowing how to sail a two handed dinghy fairly competently and wishing to sail a more exciting single hander.

It is assumed that everyone starting this course has already mastered the practical skills and absorbed the background knowledge for RYA Level 2 (Basic Skills). In addition we would hope you have sailed for one season since obtaining this qualification. There is a change in emphasis from Level 1 & 2, towards self-reliance and decision-making. Students will learn the essential skills and knowledge for rigging launching and recovering the dinghy.

By the end of the course the successful sailor will have a body of knowledge and the confidence to sail in wind conditions from force 1-3.
