Youth Racing

The Docklands Youth Racing Programme is part of an RYA initiative to develop skills in racing within the youth from the East London region. Participants are able to experience racing on a club level with an opportunity to progress to out of club competitions. These sessions are aimed at an RYA stage 2 skill level and above.

To support the racing programme we will be providing training clinics, introducing young sailors to racing and improving racing techniques, including working towards Start Racing, Intermediate & Advanced Race qualifications.

Frostbite Series

The Frostbite series runs throughout the winter months from January for 8 weeks. Races are every 2 weeks and include a morning of race trainnig followed by series racing in the afternoon.

Opening Cruise

The opening cruise at DSWC will be held on the 25th March 2012.

DSWC Youth Open Meeting

The DSWC youth open meeting is part of the Central London Youth Traveller series open to all young sailors and takes place on the 16th of June 2012.

DSWC Club Championships

Club Championships are on the 30th June 2012.

Annual Prize Giving

End of season prize giving will take place on the 28th of October 2012.

Sunday afternoons during the summer will see the Youth Slalom Training and Race Series get into full swing. It is open to youth members and non members (8-16) who have achieved or are working towards their paddle power passports or higher.

There will be an hours coaching focusing on slalom gate techniques and race tactics followed by an hour of timed races, the overall scores will go towards the series total with prizes at the end of the year!
