Support Us

Donate

We are a charity committed to providing affordable watersports for all. Every year, over 6,000 children, school groups, families and people in this community use our facilities to sail, kayak and windsurf. Your support is vital for us to continue to provide these facilities all year round. Help us create a community that is healthy, active and positive. Donate now with a one-off donation or as a regular giver.

Volunteering

We’re always looking for volunteers to join us in making watersports more affordable and accessible for children and people in our community. Volunteering is a great way to meet people, have fun learning new skills and engage with your community while giving back to your local charity. We welcome volunteers and work experience placements in all departments. Throughout the year, we have a number of watersports and fundraising events that you can come and be part of.

We enjoy working closely with local businesses and corporations and Corporate volunteers can get involved in group projects especially designed for team building and community service. There are many ways your organisation may be able to help, whether this be through a volunteering day, or hosting an event with us. Click here to view our volunteering page for more information.

Fundraising Events

There are so many exciting and fun ways you can support us. If you’re more of a marathoner or an adventurer, a swimmer or a fun walker, you can start fundraising for us today and get your friends and family to sponsor your activity. But you don’t have to be a thrill seeker to fundraise. Can you bake, cook or are you a master of fun events? You can help raise funds for our charity.

Fundraising events are fun and rewarding. Get your friends and family to sponsor your month of no drinking, or no chocolates or no coffee!

There is no easier way to support us than to shop and fundraise. As individuals, there is no doubt we all go online to shop for clothes, holidays, even groceries. As a company, you may shop online for stationery, airline tickets or phone services. You can do all this via easyfundraising.co.uk. Shopping via easyfundraising means you pay the same price, and get the benefit of fundraising. It’s as easy as that. Simply sign up on the easyfundraising page, and start shopping. Hundreds of popular retailers have pledged to contribute a portion of what you pay as donation to us. Sounds too good to be true? Sign up at  http://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/dswc/ and start shopping and fundraising now!

Payroll Giving

If you are in full-time work and pay tax in the UK, payroll giving is the most tax efficient way to donate. With payroll giving, your donation is deducted from your monthly pay before tax, therefore making your money work harder, helping us support more children and more people to have access to affordable watersports.

Most companies will have a payroll giving scheme set up. Just talk to your payroll personnel and nominate to donate to us via payroll giving. Below are details you will need:

  • Charity Name: Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre
  • Charity Number: 801049
  • Address: 235a Westferry Road, Isle of Dogs, London E14 3QS
  • Phone: 020 7537 2626
  • Email: info@dswc.org

Corporate Sponsorship Programmes

Corporate sponsors are vital in helping us fund and deliver watersports programmes to this community. There are many ways your company can support us. Whether it is to sponsor our Youth Programme, watersports events, or finance our maintenance or capital upgrade projects, we will ensure it is a mutually beneficial partnership.

Docklands Sailing and Watersports Centre is an important community centre and facility. Over 10,000 people use and visit the centre through watersports programmes, corporate events, weddings and family and social gatherings. We understand that each business is different and we will work with you to develop a sponsorship programme that meets your specific business needs. For more information, please email meri@dswc.org
