[fusion_text]The annual London Regatta will be taking place this Sunday the 2nd October at Greenwich Yacht Club. A total of 16 DSWC members will be attending the Regatta in the highly competitive Bosun fleet.
This unique event takes place on the River Thames, right next to the Thames Barrier. Once a year the Thames Barrier is closed for annual maintenance, which allows London clubs and centres to race and take advantage of the effectively non-tidal conditions.
Racing will take place from around 11am to 2pm, subject to weather conditions on the day. There will be an Awards Ceremony in the clubhouse once the results have been finalised and presentations will be made by the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Councillor Olu Babatola.
Spectators can watch from the Thames Path and Greenwich Yacht Club – the bar will be open from 12pm with food available from 2pm.[/fusion_text]
